Chevy Colorado Aluminum Flatbeds

Colorado truck beds

A midsize truck with a full-width working deck

The Colorado is a great midsize work truck, and an Alumbody flatbed makes it far more useful. Most Colorado beds we build are 6' wide by 6'6" long, with 6' × 7' and 6' × 7'6" decks for longer frames.

Colorado owners often outfit the bed as a compact contractor truck: two long topside tool boxes (16" × 13" × 72" or 21" × 13" × 72"), underbody boxes, a ladder rack and a dock style bumper. We've also built Colorado flatbeds with 22" fold down sides and a Tommy Gate liftgate.

  • Most common sizes: 6' × 6'6" and 6' × 7'
  • 22" or 12" fold down gates, 30"–33" lift out stakes
  • Topside contractor boxes and underbody boxes
  • Ladder racks and Tommy Gate liftgates
  • Factory bumper or dock style bumper

Why Colorado owners choose Alumbody

Lighter than steel

Less bed weight leaves more of the truck's rated capacity for the work you carry.

Won't rust

High strength 6000 series aluminum stands up to salt air, rain and road grime.

Load from the side

Fold down gates and lift out stakes open the deck from every side.

FAQ

Colorado truck bed questions

What size flatbed fits a Chevy Colorado?

Most Colorado beds we build are 6' wide by 6'6" long. Longer frames take a 6' × 7' or 6' × 7'6" deck.

Can I put a ladder rack and tool boxes on a Colorado flatbed?

Yes. A common Colorado setup is two long topside tool boxes, underbody boxes and a ladder rack, which turns the truck into a compact contractor rig.

Can a Colorado flatbed have a liftgate?

Yes. We've built a Colorado flatbed with 22" fold down sides and a Tommy Gate liftgate in the rear.

Can you ship the bed if I'm not in Southern California?

Yes. We install beds at our shop in Orange, California, or ship them anywhere in the U.S. palleted, shrink-wrapped and freight insured.
